Integration of XRechnung and ZUGFeRD standards for the German market
In our successful ongoing collaboration with KingKong-Tools, dating back to 2020, we continuously upgrade and adapt their information systems to meet the latest technological and regulatory requirements. A significant milestone in the development of their information system was the implementation of support for modern e-business operations within the demanding German market, specifically regarding automated invoicing.
We successfully upgraded the system to support the XRechnung standard and the ZUGFeRD hybrid format, thereby enabling the company to achieve full compliance with current German electronic business guidelines (in both the B2B and B2G sectors) and a significantly higher level of automation in document exchange.

Key technical and functional solutions include:
- Support for the XRechnung standard: Comprehensive integration of structured data based on the XML format has been developed. While primarily mandated in Germany for business-to-government (B2G) transactions, this standard also offers significant advantages in the business-to-business (B2B) sector by eliminating the need for manual data entry.
- Generation of invoices in the ZUGFeRD format: We have successfully implemented an advanced hybrid format that combines the benefits of visual and machine processing. The document consists of a human-readable PDF file with an embedded structured XML file for machine readability. This enables the recipient's accounting software to process the invoice fully automatically.
- PDF visualization of e-invoices: Since e-invoices exist inherently only as raw structured data (XML), we have integrated an advanced PDF visualization component into the system. This component transforms the structured XML record into a clear, well-formatted, and human-readable document suitable for archiving, review, or traditional distribution.
The solution represents a significant functional upgrade to the information system and enables the company to support e-business on the European market more efficiently, in greater compliance and with modern technology.
